Training

We believe that a relationship between dogs and their owners should be partnerships that are nurtured throughout the dog’s life. WagWorks exists to enrich these partnerships.

Approach

We aim to empower owners through education and provide them with the tools and resources they need to fully understand their dog and its needs in order to live happily and harmoniously together.

01

Every Dog is Different

Every dog is different, and so is our approach. At WagWorks, we take the time to understand everything – your dog’s personality, history and environment before creating a custom plan that works best for you and your dog.

02

Human & Dog Centred

From loose-lead walking to tackling more complex challenges like separation anxiety, we work closely with both you and your dog together to make sure our training translates to everyday life and creates lasting results.

03

Lead with Kindness

Kindness and empathy are at the heart of everything we do. Your dog will feel safe, supported, and eager to learn, making progress both rewarding and fun.

Become a member

Membership begins with a Meet & Greet, where you can explore our club, meet the team, discuss your dog’s needs, and find the best membership for you.

FAQ

How do the 1:1 sessions work?

Our 1:1 training sessions are open to both members and non-members and are run by our in-house behaviourist, Winkie Spiers. Winkie has over 20 years’ experience in canine training and education and has been with us since the beginning of the WagWorks journey. She knows a dog’s mind better than anyone and her approach is based on the natural ethogram of the dog, backed entirely by science and research.

We offer a free 10-minute phone call before a 1:1 session so that you can talk to Winkie about the specific problems you are experiencing and areas you need support with, and she can advise on how she might be able to help.

Often the 1:1 sessions are in the form of a home consultation, where Winkie will get a full picture of the situation at hand. She will spend essential time working with you and your dog to get to the root cause of any unwanted behaviour or training issues, rather than just addressing the symptoms. She will then establish next steps to making progress and provide a tailored plan suited to individual needs.

It is common that pain or ill health is a factor towards behavioural issues, so if in any doubt, Winkie will work with our in-house vet to ensure that any health problems are diagnosed and treated before embarking on a training programme, which is crucial for the welfare of the dog and a happy outcome.
