Do you offer any specialised grooming?

Yes, absolutely! We offer deshedding shampoo for double coated breeds, flea and tick shampoo, hydrating conditioning sprays and medicated and sensitive shampoos. If Members have any other requirements, we invite them to share their request with the grooming team and we’ll always be happy to help.

How often should I get my dog groomed?

On average every 6-8 weeks for a full grooming session. However, this is very breed specific!

  • For a short haired breed e.g. Labrador, Smooth Coated Dachshund, French Bulldog once or twice a year.
  • For a wired or silky coat e.g. Cocker Spaniel, Norfolk Terrier, Border Terrier or Golden Retriever, every 3-4 months so their coat is not stripped of the natural oils and to keep them knot free.
  • For a double coated breed e.g. Husky, Newfoundland, Shiba Inu, Border Collie, at the change of seasons e.g. start of summer/end of summer.
  • For mixed breeds e.g. Cockapoo, Goldendoodle, Cavapoo, Maltipoo, every 6-8 weeks depending on the length of their coat and styling preferences.

We recommend a personalised grooming schedule for each and every dog.

What can I do so my puppy isn’t scared of the groomers?

We find that a calm environment, a confident groomer and a slow and steady process works the best for getting your puppy comfortable with being groomed. We often advise for the grooming process to start at home with yourself, getting your puppy used to being brushed and bathed by you and/or the family.

We also offer a Puppy Series here at WagWorks – designed to help our youngest members feel right at home in the grooming studio! These visits gently introduce your puppy to the sights, sounds, and scents of grooming in a fun, stress-free way. By making it a positive experience from the start, we help build their confidence and ensure grooming stays a happy and comfortable experience for years to come.

Can my dog be groomed whilst they’re at daycare?

Absolutely, many of our members book both daycare and grooming on the same day. Just head to the WagWorks app to make your bookings!

I want to do some grooming at home, can you help me?

Yes, we would love to help. As holistic dog groomers we believe that dogs will bond better with you and be more comfortable with grooming if they are used to their favourite people grooming/handling them. We are always happy to help, give advice or show you any techniques so you are able to maintain your dog’s coat at home either between grooms or to save you some money. Grooming your own dog can give your dog a lot more confidence when they are at the groomers as they are used to this happening in their own home.
